Obituary: Jan Arnold Duuring | Eastern NC Now

    Mr. Jan Arnold Duuring, age 76, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Heritage Health Care of Farmville, N.C.

    A memorial service will be held at a later date in Los Angeles, Calif.

    Mr. Duuring was born in the Netherlands on Feb. 25, 1935, son of the late Arnold Jan Duuring and the late Theodora Anna Maria Van Der Lely. After moving to America, he graduated from high school in California and served his country in the U.S. Army. He married the former Gaby Clementine Jullien on May 19, 1962, who preceded him in death on Oct. 24, 1981. Mr. Duuring was a travel agent with Thomas Cook Travel Agency in Long Beach, Calif., for 30 years.

    Survivors include a son: John P. Duuring and his wife Robin White of Fort Barnwell, N.C., and three grandchildren: Martin Duuring of Fallbrook, Calif., Christine Cash of Merritt Island, Fla., and Aimee Patton of Fort Barnwell, N.C.

    The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 27, 2011, at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
