    Rudolph "Rudy" Frank Gilly, age 85, a resident of Blounts Creek, NC died Friday December 2, 2016 at his home.

    A graveside service will be held at 2:00pm Sunday December 4, 2016 at Esau Rowe Cemetery in Blounts Creek and will be officiated by Joel Cannon. Pallbearers include Hal Deans, Sandy Long, Bill Arseniu, Rich Gonya, Matthew Geisz, and Daniel Long.

    Rudy was born on July 9, 1931 in Allentown, PA to the late Samuel Gilly and Annie Lachner Gilly. He attended Smyrna Free Will Baptist Church. On September 16, 1995 he married Billie Lou Norman who survives. Rudy always loved to smile and make people laugh. He never met a stranger and would go out of his way to say hello to someone. Some of his interests include his love for music and being a handyman.

    In addition to his wife Billie Lou Gilly, he is survived by two children, Gene "Corky" Gilly and wife Sara of PA, Nadine "Dini" Gonya and husband Rich of PA, two grandchildren, Casey Gonya, Jaqueline Gonya, six step children, Donna Deans and husband Hal, Carol Norman, Kathy Long and husband Sandy, Jo Lynn Arseniu and husband Bill, Sheila Rowe, and numerous step grandchildren and a step great grandchild.

    The family will receive friends at the grave following the service and other times at the home 658 Norman Road, Blounts Creek, NC 27814.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Asera Care Hospice, 112 W. Firetower Road, Winterville, NC 28590.
