Mrs. Hilda Mizelle Wallace, age 79, a resident of 3212 Cherry Run Road, Washington, NC died Tuesday November 22, 2011 at her home.

    Mrs. Hilda Mizelle Wallace, age 79, a resident of 3212 Cherry Run Road, Washington, NC died Tuesday November 22, 2011 at her home.

    A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday November 26, 2011 at Wharton Trinity United Methodist Church officiated by Pastor Joan Fisher. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens. Danny Wallace, Steve Lun, Matt Lun, Ryan Lun, Seth Manning, Adam Manning, Kyle Cochran and Eric Beamon will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Wallace was born in Beaufort County on February 28, 1932 daughter of the late William Ashley Mizelle, Sr. and the late Fannie Caroline Rogers Mizelle. She was a 1950 graduate of Washington High School. On June 7, 1953, Mrs. Wallace married Dan Wallace who survives. She was a homemaker and a member of Wharton Trinity United Methodist Church.

    Surviving along with Mrs. Wallace’s husband Dan of the home are four daughters: Barbara W. Lun and her husband Ron of Cincinnati, OH, Cindy W. Cochran and her husband William of Washington, Betsy W. Beamon and her husband Jimmie of Washington and Amy W. Marshall and her husband Justin of Carolina Beach, NC; a son Danny Wallace of Washington; two sisters: Diana Leary of Greenville and Joan Mizelle of Raleigh; a brother: Dempsey Mizelle of Easton, MD; ten grandchildren: Steve Lun of Louisville, KY, Matt Lun and his wife Marni of Hoboken, NJ, Ryan Lun of Raleigh, Jessica Manning of Greenville, Emily Cochran of Williams, AZ, Seth Manning of Washington, Kyle Cochran of Greenville, Adam Manning of Washington, Stacy Beamon Hines of Greenville and Eric Beamon of Greenville and one great-grandchild: Bailey Hines of Greenville. Mrs. Wallace was preceded in death by a grandson: Patrick Cochran on August 30, 2003 a sister: Belle Whitford and three brothers: William Ashley Mizelle, Jr., Eli “Skip” Mizelle and Charlie Edmund Mizelle.

    The family received friends Friday November 25, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the home. In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks that memorial contributions be made to Wharton Trinity United Methodist Church, 501 Griffin Lane, Washington, NC 27889.
