    Mr. Alton Dumay Clark, age 76, a resident of 480 Possum Track Road, Chocowinity, NC died Sunday December 18, 2016 at his home with his family by his side.

    The family will receive friends 1:00 p.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday December 21, 2016 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington officiated by Tony Krantz and Jimmy Beasley. Burial will follow in Pamlico Memorial Gardens.

    Mr. Clark was born in Beaufort County on September 17, 1940, son of the late Alonza Dumay Clark and the late Margaret Rae Cayton Clark. He attended Chocowinity High School. On September 5, 1965 he married the love of his life, Christine Woolard who survives. Mr. Clark was a retired mechanic with Gregory Poole of Washington. He also served in the N.C. National Guard, retiring after twenty-four years of service. Mr. Clark was a member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ. He loved his wife, sons, grandchildren, John Deere equipment, Ford trucks and all old music. Special things in Mr. Clark's life were Becky Rogers JOY Bus Group and shows at the Tarheel Variety Theater. Mr. Clark had to special brothers-in-law: Oscar and James Woolard.

    Surviving along with his wife Christine of the home are two sons: Barry Clark and his wife Pam of Washington and Patrick Clark and his wife Ashli of Winterville; four grandchildren: Matthew, Megan, Madison and Brayden and a grandson who Mr. Clark was eagerly awaiting the birth of in April; six brothers: Osborne, David, Clifton, Michael, Tommy and Terry Clark and their spouses and a sister: Linda C. Williams and her husband.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church, 230 NC Hwy 33 West, Chocowinity, NC 27817.
