    Mrs. Annie Mae Jefferson Webb, age 86, a resident of Washington, NC died Tuesday January 3, 2017 at Ridgewood Nursing Center of Washington.

    A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday January 9, 2017 in the Fellowship Hall of Beaver Dam Church of Christ.

    Mrs. Webb was born in Beaufort County on December 14, 1930 daughter of the late James Jefferson and the late Katie May Woolard Jefferson. She was a graduate of Washington High School. On December 16, 1953 she married Charles Leon Webb, Sr. who preceded her in death on February 11, 2004. Mrs. Webb was a simple lady who loved her family. She enjoyed interacting with the public while she worked as a cashier at Peoples Drug Store and later at Kerr Drug Store, both formerly of Washington.

    Surviving Mrs. Webb are two children: Ann Marie Grey and her husband Paul of Washington and Charles L. "Buddy" Webb, Jr. and his wife Kim of Washington. She was predeceased by two sons: David Alan Webb and Kenneth Howard Cherry.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly asks for memorial contributions be made to the Annie Webb Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, NC 27889.
