Fannie Funderburk was born to George and Larcey Pinkham of Washington, on June 7, 1917. Fannie was raised on a farm in Washington and attended Bath High School. She saw many changes during her long life.

She met her husband Woodrow while she was enrolled in beauty school in Norfolk, Va. Fannie had a warm personality and was loved by many and had influenced a number of people by her kind nature and insightful understanding of the Holy Bible.

Holidays and birthdays were made very special by the beautiful dinners and cakes she prepared that were enjoyed by all.

After World War II, she and Woodrow and her two children moved to southern California, living in Lawndale, Woodland Hills and the Torrance areas. In 1973, Fannie and her husband moved back to So. Lake Tahoe, joining her son and his family and started A&K Plumbing.

Fannie liked to keep current with the news and was conversant on topics of world events around the world and politics.

She was prevented in her last years from doing a lot of activities she enjoyed such as quilting, reading and sewing because of her declining eyesight.

Fannie was predeceased in death by her brothers, William Pinkham of Washington, and Braxton Pinkham of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., and her husband in 1993.

She is survived by her son Leonard and daughter Laurie Funderburk of So. Lake Tahoe, her two grandsons, "Lucky" Funderburk and wife Erica, their children Gavin and Olivia of Fernley, Nev.; "Levi" and wife Lupe Funderburk and their sons Isaac and Ivan of Cupay, Calif., and several nephews and nieces.

Fannie liked to put on her Sunday best even as a child and go to church. She attended Sierra Community Church in So. Lake Tahoe.

Her wit, wisdom and southern charm will be missed by all who knew her.

Graveside services were held at noon, Monday, Dec. 5, at Happy Homestead Cemetery, So. Lake Tahoe, Calif.
