    Mr. James Terry "Jim" Draper, age 74, a resident of 89 Shiloh Church Road, Pinetown, NC died Saturday February 18, 2017 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital of Washington.

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 22, 2017 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 80 Cedar Circle, Washington conducted by Brother Mac Wilson. Burial will follow in the Respass Family Cemetery at the home. The family will receive friends 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday February 21, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and other times at the home.

    Mr. Draper was born in Washington, D.C. on September 10, 1942 son of the late Glen Hilding Draper and the late Josephine Marie Hammer Draper. He was a 1966 graduate of Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA and earned his bachelor's degree in physical sciences from ECU. He was working toward his master's degree from ECU also. On April 30, 1962 he married the former Eleanor Elaine Jackson who survives. Mr. Draper worked with the U.S. Government in the Department of Housing & Urban Development. He formed his own consulting company, Jed-Tek Inc. and worked for many government agencies. Mr. Draper was very involved in his community as a member of Pinetown Ruritan Club, and Pinetown Volunteer Fire Department where he served as treasurer. With the consolidation of Pinetown Fire and Pinetown Rescue he continued as treasurer.

    Surviving along with his wife Eleanor of the home are two sons: Terry William Draper (Natalie) of Pinetown and Michael Lewis Draper (Nicole) of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren: Shannon Thibodeau, Robin Johnson, Audrey Macoroco, Londa, Caitlin, Emma, Brendan, Nick and Nate Draper and seven great grandchildren. Mr. Draper was predeceased along with his parents by a sister: Audrey O'Neil.
