    Happy Mardi Gras!

    With little warning the month of love has left us, but allowed us to celebrate many wonderful events throughout the month. The latest events to delight audiences were the timeless movie "Labyrinth" starring David Bowie and shown this past Friday, the wonderfully successful Guitarfest this past Saturday, and the Eastern Regional Children's Orchestra, which filled the Turnage with beautiful music Sunday afternoon. Overall, we saw a diverse gathering of patrons come out to a diverse offering of events. Thank you for your continued support of our programming!

    Students of the Pamlico Reception

    Join us Thursday, March 2nd, for a reception to introduce our latest collection of art work in our gallery which has been designed by local students at grade school, senior grade and college level. The reception begins at 5:30 and will last through 7:30 pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

    AOP's School of the Arts for Kids $5 Fridays!

    Youth K-8th grade are invited to join in AOP's School of the Arts for Kids $5 Fridays from 3 - 5:30 PM at the Historic Turnage Theatre. Act, sing, dance and create on stage with AOP's Dylan Ritch, AOP's Children's Programming Director. Call 252-946-2504 for details or to reserve a spot. Spaces limited to first 30 children.

    Gang of Thieves w/ Psylo Joe Friday-03/03/17

    Gang of Thieves will make you believe in Rock n' Roll again. High energy groovy band describes these Vermont funk rockers, who fuse a new breed of rock and roll with a vibrant instrumentation to create a powerful sound palatable to audiences of all ages. Tickets are only $10, doors open at 6:30 pm. Beer, wine, soda, popcorn, and candy for sale during event.

    BCTMA Regional Music Series: Youth Talent Showcase

    Free youth talent showcase hosted by BCTMA in the Turnage Gallery. Ages 5 - 19 years welcome. Thursday, February 23, 2017 7:00 pm. Free admission. Donations appreciated.

    Opera at the Turnage!

    AOP is proud to extend an invitation to our patrons to attend our first opera screening, "Carmen" on March 5th at 2 pm. The opera is written in the genre of opéra comique with musical numbers separated by dialogue. It is set in southern Spain and tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery gypsy Carmen. The opera is being presented for free, with a suggested donation of $5.

    Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase. Join us in our first presentation of Opera on the Big Screen.

    Dueling Pianos Coming March 9th!

    "Put two sharp-witted, incredibly talented musicians with two grand pianos on a stage, then add in a roomful of people; The result is an evening of fast, funny, and unforgettable entertainment. Their musical repertoire ranges from Classic Rock to Country, Hard Rock to R&B, and Show Tunes to Top 40. Our entertainers engage the audience making them the star of the show. It only takes a song to have the party goers shouting out requests, singing along to favorites, bantering with performers, and having the time of their lives" (from the Dueling Piano website).     Art Break for Kids - Registration Open, Space Limited

    Arts of the Pamlico will kick off its school holiday art break series in April. One week long arts extravaganza from April 17th - 21st at the Turnage Theatre

    from 8:00 am - 5:30 pm. Fees are $50 per child, include snacks (bring lunch). Children grades K-8 may participate in this day camp which will open at 8 AM - 5:30 PM. Participating children engage in a variety of hands-on art activities from painting to dancing to storytelling and movies on the big screen!

    $5 admission

    March 12 - 3 pm Broadway on the Big Screen - "The Woodsman" - Return to Oz and learn how the Tinsman lost his heart.

    March 18 - 8pm Improv Comedy with I.C. Comedy Improv Troupe
