Died: March 4, 2017

    Ms. Doris "LaRue" Brame Culifer Rogers, age 82, of Washington, died Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington, conducted by Pastor Phillip Jethro.

    Ms. Rogers was born in Beaufort County on September 11, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Willie Brame and Janie LaRue Elks Brame. Ms. Rogers was a seamstress at Washington Garment Factory and Sampson Shirt Factory and retired as an assembly line worker at Hamilton Beach. She attended Alligood Church of God. In her spare time, Ms. Rogers loved to cook, sew and shop.

    Ms. Rogers is survived by two daughters, Debra Hawkins and husband, Dennis of Chocowinity, Diane Smith and husband, Frankie of Washington; four grandchildren, Deanna Biggs and husband, Jason, Denny Hawkins and fiancé Dana Everett, Derek Knott, Daniel Smith and wife, Brittany; and five great grandchildren, Tatum Biggs, Parker Biggs, Conner James Knott, Kennedy Rae Smith and Dallas Hawkins.

    The family will receive friends at Ms. Roger's home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, March 6, 2017 at 113 Slatestone Drive, Washington.
