The Turnage Theatre was alive with activity this past weekend!


    Pamlico Sounds launched this past Friday and was met with eager patrons. The weather was beautiful, the music and comedy were on point. Come out next month on May 19th and enjoy and wonderful night of entertainment. AOP teamed up with SoundRivers Saturday morning and in honour of Earth Day collected 400 pounds of trash that local artists will turn into beautiful works of art to be displayed later this summer. We also saw sell-out crowd for "Confessions", a gospel comedy play presented by Heramii on Saturday evening. What a great talent filled weekend!

Little Art Fundraiser Underway


    Buy your number now for the annual Little Art Exhibit! Proceeds to benefit children's programming at AOP. The cost for a number is $30 for 1 piece or $25 for four numbers which buys you 8 x 10 donated works by local artists. Pick up your works on May 18 at the closing reception.

Scott Kirby Concert


    Join us on the big stage on April 28 from 7 - 9 PM. Scott Kirby -- singer, songwriter, guitarist, storyteller, sailor and road warrior. Writing songs for a new CD, performing 150 live shows a year throughout the US and Canada, and holding down the stage at his own club-Key West's Smokin' Tuna Saloon-keep the barnacles off this modern-day troubadour. A creative lyricist and accomplished finger-style acoustic guitarist with an expressive voice, Kirby describes himself as a direct descendant of the '70s singer/songwriter movement. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the Box office, online at Arts of the Pamlico or by calling us at (252) 946-2504.

Walls and Walls Full of Art!


    We celebrate a beautiful reception and the opening of three new art exhibits in the historic Turnage by Jeff Jakub, The Coastal Carolina Photography Club and Autism Enterprises. We invite our members to stop by and enjoy the beauty of the works as they are on display and perhaps purchase a few pieces.

    Mark your calendars for a Members reception you don't want to miss! May 4 kicks off the state touring African American Heritage Music Trail Exhibit with singer Carolyn Myers and remarks from NC Arts Council representatives.
