    Carl Rochelle, 79, of Arlington, VA passed away at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington on Saturday, May 20, 2017.

    Born in Washington NC to John A. and Oneida Johnson Rochelle on August 15, 1937. Carl received his BA degree at American University in Washington DC. He pursued a career in Journalism starting in the local radio market of Greenville, NC and becoming a writer for ABC News, then as national correspondent for ABC, CNN, and MSNBC.

    Carl is survived by four sons, Carl A. Rochelle III of Indianapolis, IN, John A. Rochelle (Virginia) of Ft. Meyers, FL, Paul A. Rochelle and Christopher A. A. Rochelle of Arlington, VA (Sarah). He is survived by two grandchildren, John and Katie Rochelle, and two great grandsons. He also leaves behind his girlfriend Carol Newman of Leesburg VA and his former wife Christy Jobe Carter (Edmund) of Southport, NC.

    Carl was very proud of his sons, his work, and his ability as a pilot and flight instructor.

    Family and friends are invited to Carl's Life Celebration at Money & King Funeral Home, 171 W. Maple Ave. Vienna, VA on Thursday, May 25 from 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral service will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, McLean Virginia on Friday May 26, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. with reception following.

    Carl was a Mason, as was his father and grandfather. A private Masonic burial will be held in Washington, NC later.
