    Mrs. Grace Mae Taylor Bright, age 96, a resident of Pinetown died Saturday June 10, 2017 at Autumnfield of Belhaven.

    A graveside funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday June 12, 2017 at Yeatesville Cemetery officiated by Pastor David Pierce. Douglas Dixon, Doug Dixon, Travis Bright, George Baker, George Keech and Joe Cahoon will serve as pallbearers.

    The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

    Mrs. Bright was born in Knott's Island community in Currituck County on February 16, 1921. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Taylor and the late Ruby Alberson Taylor. On January 2, 1940, she married Elliott Hollowell Bright who preceded her in death on July 28, 2007. Mrs. Bright dedicated her life to her family as a wife, mother and homemaker and to her church, Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a sunday school teacher for many years.

    Survivors include two sons: Doug Bright (Jenny) of Belhaven and Clark Bright (Beth) of Bath; a daughter-in-law: Nancy Bright of Hopewell, VA; six grandchildren: Melody Bright Bell (Jody) of Butler, AL, Jill Bright Vernelson (Phil) of New Bern, LeAnn Bright Dixon (Doug) of Pinetown, Dennise Bright Cox (Gregory) of Charlotte, Morgan Bright Herr (Jeffrey) of Raleigh and Travis Andrew Bright (Merrill) of Greenville and nine great grandchildren: Megan Bell, Hunter Bell, Douglas S. Dixon, Abigail Dixon, Ashlyn Cox, Mason Herr, Emerson Herr, Brinson Bright and Wyatt Bright. Mrs. Bright was predeceased by a son: Scott Bright and a great granddaughter: Annabelle Dixon.

    In lieu of flowers the family kindly ask for memorial contributions be made to Belhaven Missionary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 400, Belhaven, NC 27810.
