Died: July 28, 2017

    Robert Daniel Midgett, age 81, a resident of Chocowinity, NC died Friday July 28, 2017 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday July 31, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington and will be officiated by Gene Andrews.

    Mr. Midgett was born in Hyde County on August 20, 1935 to the late Dan T. Midgett and Mae Elizabeth Overton. On August 21, 1987, he married Linda Sue Dowdy Midgett who survives. Mr. Midgett loved horses and dogs and loved to show them both. He enjoyed going to auctions and regularly attended them. He was the former owner of Midgett Dry Wall and worked in dry wall for many years.

    In addition to his wife survivors include, six children, Robert G. Midgett and wife Karen of Washington, Kenneth Midgett and wife Renee of Portsmouth, VA, Sherrie Allen and husband Brad of Greenvile, Eric Midgett and wife Christy of Hertford, Eddie Midgett and wife Emily of Hertford, Tina Griekspoor and husband Jimmy of Washington, twenty grandchildren, thirty-four great grandchildren, six sisters, Mildred Chrismon of Washington, Mary Robinson of Creswell, Nancy Twiddy of Virginia, Melva Ambrose of Kitty Hawk, Jackie Williams of Panama City, FL, Mattie Berry of Greenville, and many nieces and nephews.

    He is preceded in death by three brothers, Gene Midgett, Earl Midgett, Rudolph Midgett and a sister, Doris Clayton.
