    Mrs. Mildred Ann Cuthrell Young, age 74, a resident of Pinetown, NC died Thursday August 17, 2017 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Washington.

    A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday August 21, 2017 at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church and will be officiated by Tony Parrish. Burial will follow in the Linton Cemetery.

    Mrs. Young was born in Beaufort County on September 19, 1942 to the late John R. Cuthrell and Mary Elizabeth Gaskins. She was a 1960 graduate of Pantego High School. In February 1962, she married Ronald Young who preceded her in death September 1999. Mrs. Young worked as a seamstress until her retirement. She was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her son, Ronnie Young and wife Melissa of Pinetown, her daughter, Dorothy Ballou and husband Barry of Morehead City, four grandchildren, Kristi Ballou, Kasey Ballou, Kyle Young, Katie Young, two brothers, James Cuthrell and wife Mary of Pinetown, George Cuthrell and wife Louette of Washington, a sister, Pam Burbage of Pinetown, and several nieces and nephews.

    In addition to her husband she is preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Cuthrell, Floyd Cuthrell and a sister, Doris Stokesberry.

    The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM Monday until the funeral hour at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church and following the committal service at the church.
