Born: November 18, 1921, Died: January 29, 2018

    Ms. Thelma O'Neal Alligood Picard, age 96, a resident of Washington, passed away Monday January 29, 2018 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

    Graveside services will be 11:00 am Thursday February 1, 2018 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens and will be conducted by Tony Krantz. Doug Alligood, Bryan Scott Alligood, Alan Alligood, Charlie Alligood, Robby Taylor and Eric Bryant will serve as pallbearers. Joseph Alligood, Jr. and Charlie K. Alligood will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    Ms. Picard was born in Beaufort County on November 18, 1921 to the late Charlie and Eva Woolard Alligood. She retired from Stanadyne and was a longtime member of Beaver Dam Church of Christ and the Women's Christian Fellowship. Throughout her life Thelma worked tirelessly at sharing her Christian faith with others in so many ways. Her gift of cooking was a frequent avenue she used to witness to others and to support various ministries in her church family. Thelma's enduring faith in the Lord has been a source of strength that her family will miss greatly.

    Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Mooring and husband Kenneth of Washington, one son, Larry Picard and wife Judy of Stella, NC, one brother, Joe Alligood and wife Carolyn of Washington, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

    The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm Wednesday January 31, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
