    Mr. Linwood Earl Boyd, age 82, a resident of Washington, NC died Wednesday February 7, 2018 at his home.

    A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday February 11, 2018 at Old Ford Church of Christ and will be officiated by Eddie Bowen. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Joe Ayers, H.N. Jackson, C.S. Elks, Austin Boyd, Zachary Ross, and Nicholas Ross will serve as pallbearers. Earl Warren and Phillip Matkins will serve as honorary pallbearers.

    Mr. Boyd was born in Beaufort County on September 29, 1935 to the late Willie Crandle Boyd and Dallas Elizabeth Elks Boyd. He attended Old Ford School from 1st grade through 8th grade and graduated from Washington High School. On June 11, 1959, he married Joyce Ann Smith. Mr. Boyd worked for over 30 years as a machine operator for DuPont. He was a member of Old Ford Church of Christ and was also a member of Old Ford Ruritan Club for over 40 years.

    Survivors include his wife, Joyce Smith Boyd of the home, a son, Kevin Earl Boyd of Washington, a daughter, Tammy Ross and husband Randy of Johnson City, TN, four grandsons, Zachary Ross, Joshua Ross, Nicholas Ross, Austin Boyd, a granddaughter, Alexis Boyd, a great granddaughter, Eliot Ross, a brother Danny Boyd, two sisters Cheryl Toler of Chocowinity, and Karen Edwards and husband Jeff of Washington.

    The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:30 PM Saturday February 10, 2018 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
