Born: August 27, 1937, Died: February 21, 2018

    Mr. Linwood "Slim" Gray Keech, age 80, a resident of Free Union, NC died Wednesday morning February 21, 2018 at his home.

    A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday February 24, 2018 at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Tony Parrish and Rev. Harold Swinson. Freddy Warren, Forest Warren, Mike Goodwin, Hank Stoop, William E. "Bud" Modlin and Steve Midgette will serve as pallbearers. Tommy Webster, Sammy Tinker, Glen Keech, Billy Warren and Jimmy Keech will serve as honorary pallbearers. A private burial will follow in the Keech Family Cemetery.

    Mr. Keech was born in Beaufort County on August 27, 1937, son of the late Elias Hilton Keech and Suzy Windley Keech. He was a graduate of Pantego High School and was owner/operator of Coastal Wood Products in Pinetown. Mr. Keech was a member of Free Union Free Will Baptist Church. On July 7, 1957, he married the former Carol Sparrow who preceded him in death on October 14, 2009.

    Mr. Keech is survived by his son: Terry Lynn Keech and wife Linda of Bath; his daughter: Tena Keech Hudson and husband Travis, Jr. of Chocowinity; his grandchildren: T.J. Webster, Carol K. Stokes, Kathryn Hudson and Bryan Hudson and his great grandchildren: Jase Hudson and Kadance Stokes as well as numerous nieces, nephews and in-laws. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Delma Keech and Elmer Keech and his sisters: Nellie Mae Keech Webster Dixon and Mildred Keech Andreoli.

    The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her caregivers: Nan, Jenny, Chris and Linda.

    The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Free Union Free Will Baptist Church.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Free Union Free Will Baptist Church, 4961 Free Union Church Road, Pinetown, NC 27865.
