    Mr. Kenneth Edward Ragland, age 81, a resident of 326 S. Wedgewood Drive, Washington, NC died Friday morning, March 9, 2018 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    Mr. Ragland was born in Paducah, Kentucky on May 17, 1936, son of the late Edward Henry Ragland and Mildred Frances Turner Ragland. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama. Mr. Ragland was CEO of Beaufort County Hospital from 1986 - 2002 and Pungo District Hospital from 2002-2015. He was a member of the Kiwanis, Rotary and the Hospital Association of Kentucky, SC and NC. He enjoyed fishing, camping and golfing. On January 25, 1979, he married the former Sharon Jones who preceded him in death on April 26, 2016.

    Mr. Ragland is survived by his sons: Ed Ragland of Manning, SC and William Ragland and wife Holly O'Neal of Washington; his daughter: Whitney Somers and husband Bobby of Ludowici, GA; his grandchildren: Maddison Somers, Lathon Somers, Charlotte Somers, Turner Ragland, Landon Ragland, Asher Ragland, Addison Ragland, Aiden Ragland and Collin Lee; and his brother: Ricky Ragland and wife Nancy of Paducah, KY. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Bill Ragland.
