Drug bust, cash and weapons seized in Belhaven | Eastern North Carolina Now

    On February 1, 2012, members of the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit arrested Carlton Deshawn Rome, age 36, of 341 Lee St. Belhaven and Ella Lawanda Williams, age 35, of 341 Lee St. Belhaven. Their arrests stemmed from Investigators in the Narcotics Unit along with Deputies from the Patrol Division executing a search warrant at Rome and Williams’ residence in Belhaven. As a result of the search investigators seized over 75 grams of cocaine, $9,497 in cash, two semi-automatic handguns, marijuana and drug packaging material.

    As a result of the items seized from search warrant Carlton Rome and Ella Williams were both charged with Level I Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Cocaine, Maintaining a Dwelling to Facilitate Drug Activity, Possession of Less than ½ Ounce of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Carlton Rome was also charged with Possession of a Firearm by Felon. Carlton Rome was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $100,000 secured bond. Ella Williams was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $70,000 secured bond.
