Born: December 9, 1946 Died: December 5, 2018

Thomas Edward Radcliff, 71, passed away at his home on December 5, 2018 surrounded by his family.

His funeral service will be held at Hillside Funeral Service in Washington, NC on December 8, 2018 at 2:00 pm. Viewing will be prior to the service. Burial will follow in Yeatesville Cemetery.

Mr. Radcliff was born to the late Mary Ellaree Lowe Radcliff and Clarence Jonah Radcliff on December 9, 1946 in Suffolk, VA. He was predeceased by his brother, Clarence Elton Radcliff and sister, Judith Radcliff Lamb.

Mr. Radcilff is survived by his loving wife, Ruth Slugocke Radcliff; son, Scot T. Radcliff of Pantego; daughter, Kara R. Pugh of Belhaven; grandchildren, Alexis B. Pugh and Charles R. "Tres" Pugh III; close friend, Ethan M. Mobley; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sgt. T.E Radcliff served as a Flight Crew Chief on the infamous C-130 in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Conflict. He was very proud of his service to his country and would often tell his family and friends of good and bad times during his military career.

Mr. Radcliff retired from Autumfield Rest Home in Belhaven as Maintenance Director after 15 years of faithful service. He thoroughly loved helping the residents daily, as he knew most of them growing up locally.

"Tommy Ed", known to his family and friends, can be remembered for his generosity and kindness any time of the day or night. He was "King" of dad jokes, since he could make you laugh anytime. He and Ruth loved all animals, especially after together they raised nearly 100 cats known as "The Radcliff Kitties". He also dearly loved his recently deceased dog, "Jackson", who spent nearly 20 years by his side. He and Ruth spent their vacations and spare quality time on Ocracoke Island in Hyde Co, NC and their passion was camping, shore fishing and visiting the local thrift stores.

He will dearly be missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be sent to your local veterans organization or the Beaufort County Humane Society.
