    Mrs. Doris Louise Sawyer Rose, age 86, a resident of 25481 Hwy. 264 East, Pantego, passed away Saturday December 8, 2018 at her home.

    Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday December 12, 2018 at Pantego Christian Church and will be conducted by Rev. Jim Bussell. Lloyd Williams, Quinton Vick, Lloyd Sawyer, Steve Midgette, Trent Midgette and Jonathan Sawyer will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Rose was born September 22, 1932 in Hyde County to the late Walter Acton Sawyer and Mable Lowe Sawyer. On June 7, 1955 she married William L. "Bill" Rose who preceded her in death on November 1, 2012. She was a graduate of Pantego High School and was a member of Pantego Christian Church.

    Survivors include her daughter, Gloria R. Williams and husband Lee of Scranton; her son, Howard Rose of Pantego; grandson, Lloyd Williams III; granddaughter, Trisha Ricks and husband Chance; one great grandson, Quinton Vick; two sisters, Dorothy Gibson and husband John of Charlottesville, Virginia, Ann Braddy and husband Wayne of Belhaven and one brother, Lloyd "Buddy" Sawyer of Pinetown. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Lynn Rose, three brothers, Robert Sawyer, Walter "Jake" Sawyer and Wilbur Sawyer.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
