Born: March 20, 1923, Died: December 19, 2018

    Mrs. Edna Myrle Hill Sauls, age 95, a resident of Washington, passed away Wednesday December 19, 2018 at River Trace Nursing Center.

    Funeral services will be 2:00 pm on Sunday December 23, 2018 at Alligood Church of God, 1891 Mill Hole Rd., Washington, NC 27889 and will be conducted by Pastor Gary Bateman and Pastor Harold Anderson. Burial will follow in Snow Hill Cemetery. Paul Alligood, Ryan Alligood, Todd Sauls, Ronnie Sauls, Kris Sauls and Joey Shore will serve as pallbearers.

    Mrs. Sauls was born March 20, 1923 in Wayne County to the late Roland and Julia Killette Hill. On October 24, 1940 she married Gurney Lee Sauls who preceded her in death on November 16, 1976. She attended New Hope High School in Goldsboro, was a homemaker and a pastors wife of 30 years assisting him in his ministry in the Church of God. Mrs. Sauls was a member of Patetown Church of God in Goldsboro.

    Survivors include her three children, Gary Sauls of LaGrange, Judy Sauls Alligood of Washington, Timothy Lee Sauls and wife Debbie of Manteo, five grandchildren, Ronnie Sauls, Todd Sauls, Kris Sauls, Paul Alligood, Ryan Alligood, six great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Alligood, one sister, Mary Hill "Black" Turnage , one son in law, Don Alligood and one daughter in law, Bobbie Sauls.

    The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home of her daughter, Judy S. Alligood, 127 Castle Court, Washington, NC 27889.
