    Derenda Hudgins Chrismon, 69, passed away on January 25th, 2019 at home with her husband Lloyd by her side in Washington, NC.

    She was born July 17th, 1949 to the late Virginia L. Nichols and Jack D. Hudgins in Beaufort Co, NC. She graduated from Washington High School in 1967 and attended college to study computer science. She went on to become a scuba diving instructor, business owner, substitute teacher, and devoted mother. She loved her family, gardening and caring for children and others with special needs.

    Derenda is survived by her loving husband of 20 years, Lloyd Terry Chrismon; three children, Hilary Eva Winfield (Erik Olsen), Megan Winfield Lau (Luke), and James Daniel Winfield, Jr.; and two grandchildren, Thomas and Charlotte Lau. She was preceded in death by her sister, Jacqueline Hudgins.

    The family will receive friends the evening of January 29th from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at Hillside Funeral Service.Graveside services will be 11:00 am, January 30th in Pamlico Memorial Gardens with Pastor John Koch officiating.
