Marie Gaither Moore | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Beulah Marie Gaither Moore, age 96, a resident of 174 Washington Harbor died Sunday April 8, 2012 at her home.

    The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.

    Mrs. Moore was born in Litchfield, Illinois on September 17, 1915 to the late James Eugene Gaither and Ethel Thomasson Gaither. She moved to Hickory, NC as a small child and graduated from Hickory High School. After graduation, Mrs. Moore taught dance in Statesville. In 1938, Mrs. Moore moved to Beaufort County where she married the late John A. Wilkinson on August 25, 1938. Mrs. Moore married Jack Moore on February 21, 1976; he preceded her in death in 1991. Mrs. Moore was an avid gardener and bridge player and was a member of The Addisco Book Club.

    Mrs. Moore is survived by two daughters; Peggy W. Farrell and husband Timothy of Pantego, NC and Pattie W. Brinkley and husband Robert of Awendaw, SC; a brother; James Gaither, a sister; Ann Norris, four grandchildren; Rebecca Marie Farrell of Wilmington, NC, Andrew James Farrell of Bath, NC, Peter Nicholas Jefferson of Dahlonega, Ga., and Mary Wilkinson Brinkley of San Marcos, Texas, and five great grandchildren.

    The family wishes to offer special thanks to each of the loving caregivers who cared for Mrs. Moore during her period of declining health.
