    Mr. Gary Lane Brinn, age 74, a resident of Washington, NC died Tuesday October 8, 2019 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday October 12, 2019 in the Chapel of Paul Funeral Home & Crematory and will be officiated by Pastor Scott Betts.

    Mr. Brinn was born in Beaufort County on August 12, 1945 to the late Willie Murray Brinn and Edith Woolard Brinn. On September 11, 1971 he married his beloved wife Kay Jordan who survives. Mr. Brinn was serving as a County Commissioner for Beaufort County and was also a former member of the Optimist Club. He loved coaching. He coached Little League football and baseball as well as Senior Babe Ruth baseball. He enjoyed golfing, sailing, and watching his beloved Carolina Tar Heels and Green Bay Packers. He was the owner of Brinn Landscaping and was a dedicated Beaufort County Commissioner. Serving Beaufort County was one of his greatest joys.

    In addition to his wife, Kay J. Brinn, he is survived by his daughter, Crystal Lane Brinn of Brooklyn, NY his son, Murray Sammual Brinn of Raleigh, and a special niece, Jordan Dixon.

    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Sherial Brinn and C.F. Wallace and two sisters, Emily Boyd and Wanda Allen, as well as a brother-in-law and best friend, Tom Moore.

    The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home prior to the service.

    In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Eagle's Wings, P.O. Box 426, Washington, NC 27889.
