A Celebration of History, Local Arts, and Pirate Entertainment!

    GREENVILLE, NC     Swashbucklers of all ages will converge on the banks of the Tar River, a paradise located in Uptown Greenville, for the 14th annual PirateFest on April 17th and 18th, 2020.

    PirateFest, Greenville's signature festival, with an annual attendance of over 35,000 people, kicks off Friday, April 17th from 5pm to 9 pm with the Buccaneer Bash, a live music concert at the Town Common, wristband night at the carnival at Five Points Plaza, along with food vendors, artists, and grog gardens along Evans Street for pirates of all ages to enjoy!

    On Saturday, April 18th, PirateFest is underway from 11am to 8pm, starting with the Parade of Pirates at 11am down Evans Street from 5th to 1st Street and culminating in the Saturday night headlining concert at 6pm on the Greenville Town Common.

    PirateFest features fine arts and crafts for sale, two live music stages, pirate grog, pirate reenactments, a children's pirate costume contest, and a Pirate Encampment offering crafts and inflatables for children, and other activities. Also, don't miss out on food and entertainment from around the world at the International Ports o' Call. Keep a weather eye out for roving bands of pirates singing sea chanteys and getting into playful mischief throughout the festival!

    "Join us for two days of piratical tomfoolery at Greenville's signature community event," said Meredith Hawke, Interim Executive Director of Uptown Greenville. "PirateFest continues to bring a weekend of family-friendly activities and all-day entertainment. Visitors are encouraged to walk the plank in the heart of the Emerald City!"

    Artists, nonprofits, and food vendors are all invited to apply to participate!

    Organized by Uptown Greenville, Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge, the City of Greenville, and the Greenville-Pitt County Convention & Visitors Bureau, PirateFest will showcase the best of the region, from artists, to restaurants, to unique recreational activities. Visitors are invited to escape the ordinary, if only for a weekend!

    Early Deadline to apply is November 7, 2019
    Final Deadline to apply is February 1, 2020
    NOTE: In order to maintain a quality festival all vendors must re-apply every year.
