    Mrs. Evelyn Christine Carrow Marslender, age 78, a resident of Chocowinity, passed away Wednesday December 18, 2019 at River Trace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

    Mrs. Marslender was born November 30, 1941 in Beaufort County to the late Charlie Harvey Carrow and Myrtle Edwards Carrow. She was a 1960 graduate of Chocowinity High School and went on to Beaufort Community College receiving degrees in Social Services, Business Administration and Horticulture. On November 24, 1961, she married Johnny Lewis Marslender who survives. Mrs. Marslender was a member of Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.

    Survivors include her husband of the home, Johnny L. Marslender, two sons, Johnny Ray Marslender of Chocowinity, David Marslender and wife Brenda of Chocowinity, four brothers, Rusty Carrow, Snody Carrow, Rayvon Carrow, Johnnie Taylor Carrow all of Chocowinity, two sisters, Ernestine Armstrong of Tucker, GA, Myrtle Deloris Cusick of Rocky Mount and three grandchildren, Josh Marslender, Stacey Windley and Mandy Wainwright. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Norman Carrow, Arthur Ray Carrow and a granddaughter, Baleigh Dawn Marslender.

    The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Saturday December 21, 2019 at Union Chapel Free Will Baptist Church.
