    Mrs. Gracie Allen Banks Bright, age 80, a resident of Hickory Drive, Washington, died Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    There will be no services at this time.

    Mrs. Bright was born in Beaufort County on April 9, 1940. She was the daughter of the late Mack Duffy Banks and Mary Cherry Banks. Mrs. Bright was a homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of the Pentecostal faith. In her spare time, Mrs. Bright enjoyed taking care of her family, gardening and playing Pak Man.

    Mrs. Bright was married to James A. Bright, who preceded her in death, May 27, 1999.

    Survivors include her children, Shirley Bright of New Bern, N.C.; James Bright, Jr. of Hannibal, MO., Jimmy Bright of Washington; Brenda Daughton of Washington; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

    In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bright was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Banks, Snodie Banks, Murphy Banks: and four sisters, Ruby Chauncey, Dollie Pilgreen, Lizzie Banks and Minnie Midyette.

    Special thanks to Sierra Daughton and J.R. Midgett, two of her grandchildren, who took care of Mrs. Bright for the last several years.
