Michigan Governor Whitmer Lifts Her Illegal Lockdown Order | Eastern NC Now

    Confronted with a coming day of reckoning in multiple courts, Michigan governor Whitmer has lifted her lockdown order 11 days before its expiration, Her extension of her original order had been illegal under Michigan emergenecy management law, because the law required legislative approval for the extension and the legislature had specifically voted to disapprove, Whitmer was being sued in federal court by a US Congressman, and in state court by both houses of the state legislature, as well as a lawsuit by small business that was being backed by the US Department of Justice. Ironically, it was her desire to let the rioters have free rein that was the decided point to cave in.
