The building formerly occupied by Ingalls Printers on Respess Street burned in a late night fire. That business had closed and apparently there was not electricity on in the building. It will be interesting to see what the cause is determined to be. The building is right behind The Hackney, but it apparently suffered no damage. It is not known who currently owns the burned building.

There is a vacant space between the old Ingalls building and The Hackney which is L shaped and fronts on both Respess and Main. That is where the Suskind and Berry building burned some years ago. Suskind and Berry was an old Washington merchant dating from the late 1800s that had been under new ownership and was said to be in financial trouble when it burned up one night.
