    Mr. Joe Lester Cutler, Sr., age 80, a resident of 550 Cutler Road, Blounts Creek, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Vidant Beaufort Hospital.

    Memorial services will be held 3:00 pm Sunday September 20, 2020 in the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church in Chocowinity and will be conducted by Pastor Greg Hombirg.

    Joe was born in Beaufort County on October 17, 1939 to the late George Oler Cutler and Dora Lee Clark Cutler. He was an avid farmer and worked 45 years in construction. He loved pretty red tractors, old western movies and to be around people, to talk and carry on. He was a former member of the Red Men's Lodge, Moose Lodge and was a member of First Baptist Church in Chocowinity.

    Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ruby Jo Hodges Cutler of the home; three children, Mary Jo Beddard and husband Bob of Washington, Teresa Piner and husband Wes of Wake Forest, Joe Cutler, Jr. of the home; three grandchildren, Chris Venters of Wake Forest, Erin Piner of Wake Forest, Kendell Wenteler and husband Michael of Washington and three great grandchildren, Kira Venters, Jack Venters and Bella Grace Wenteler.

    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Joe L. Cutler, Sr. Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1465, Washington, NC 27889.
