Mrs. Nellie Carrow Thornton | Eastern NC Now

   Mrs. Nellie Carrow Thornton, 69, a resident of 9705 Lake Wheeler Road, Fuquay Varina, died Monday, June 25, 2012, in Wake Medical Center.

   A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Thornton Cemetery, 500 Marsh Kornegay Road, Faison, N.C., with the Rev. Chuck Woodruff officiating.

   Born in 1942 in Beaufort County, Mrs. Thornton was the daughter of the late Claude and Eva Wallace Carrow. She was a member of Catawba Springs Church and retired from N.C. State commission for the blind.

   She is survived by her husband, Hubert Thornton and daughter, Belinda Flynn and husband Robert, all of Fuquay Varina; three sisters, Sally Tetterton of Bath, Martha Keech Andreoli of Pinetown and Debbie Harris of Washington, and three brothers, Hubert Carrow and Andy Carrow, both of Bath, and Mac Carrow of Pinetown.
