September 12, 1948 – October 21, 2020

On Wednesday, October 21, 2020, Nancy Lee Sheck passed to the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Nancy was born on September 12, 1948 in Washington, D.C., to John and Mary (McNulty) Schroeder. On April 17, 1971, she married Robert Louis Sheck. They raised two children, Stephanie Sheck Bahr and Scott Sheck and enjoyed her grandchildren, Skylar Sheck, Katelyn and Colin Bahr.

She is an alumnus of Wayland Baptist University, Navy spouse for 20 years, and a passionate volunteer that served in her communities. She loved to raise and train dogs for Canine Companions for Independence. She raised four puppies to support the physically disabled community, and continued to support that organization through mentorship and financial contributions. Nancy had a passion for knitting. She belonged to many knitting groups that supported the craft community and donated knitting goods to hospitals and women's shelters, and judging fiber arts at the Pitt County fair. She was also an avid music lover and choir member at Oakmont Baptist Church. She was known for her life of service through her many passions and her kind and compassionate spirit.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, John, and her mother, Mary. She is survived by her husband Robert, their two children, Stephanie and Scott, her siblings, John Schroeder Jr, Mark Schroeder, Rachel DuMont and Debbie Allen, and many cousins, nieces, and a nephew. Due to the Pandemic, a Memorial service will be held in the future. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Canine Companions for Independence in the name of Nancy L. Sheck (http://www.cci.org).
