    Mrs. Claudia Taylor Baker, age 74, a resident of the Belhaven, NC community died Thursday October 22, 2020.

    Mrs. Baker (affectionately known as Caw Caw by her family) was born in Belhaven at Pungo District Hospital on February 26, 1946 daughter of the late Jesse Lovick Taylor Jr. and Christine Smithwick Taylor.

    She was a 1964 graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School. She married Bryant Baker, Jr. on March 20, 1966. She was a retired beautician after 30 years of service to the local Belhaven community and surrounding areas. Claudia and Bryant started Baker Building Supply in 1976 where she was secretary and treasurer. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Belhaven.

    Surviving along with her husband: Bryant Baker and her sister: Roberta Allen both of Belhaven are her children: Dana Baker of New Bern NC, Jason Baker (Wendy) of Belhaven, Jenna Cooper (Reid) of Belhaven and grandchildren: Bridgette Cota (Gabriel), Breanna Hudnell (Gregory), Brooklyn Hudnell, Bailey Vossen (Jeremy), BJ Baker, Bryant Cooper (Kaitlyn), Braeden Cooper, and Briley Cooper and great grandchildren: Blakley Thompson, Daveigh Cota, Bodie Squires, Bellamy Squires, and Oliver Vossen.

    She was preceded in death by her brother: Jesse Lovick Taylor III.

    She enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as well as spending her time at home on "The Lot".

    Please know the family is thankful for all the prayers, love, and support. Due to the circumstances at this time, no visitation will be held. A private memorial service will be held with family.
