    William Allen Arnold, age 90, a resident of Chocowinity, passed peacefully away Monday October 26, 2020 at Ridgewood Manor in Washington, NC.

    Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday October 28, 2020 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington with Rev. Ola Forbes Jr. of Wayside Presbyterian Church officiating. The family will receive friends and family following the service at the cemetery.

    Mr. Arnold was born in Pitt County on December 20, 1929 to the late Edward and Lucy Arnold. He was a graduate of Chicod High School. On December 28, 1952 he married Edna Earle Paramore of Chocowinity. She preceded him in death. They had their 67th wedding anniversary on December 28, 2019. He joined the Air Force and served during the Korean War. Later he worked at DuPont and retired after 30 years as an electrician. He was a member of Wayside Presbyterian Church and a member of the Redmen's Lodge.

    Survivors include his son, Jerry Arnold and wife Gloria Diane of Chocowinity and his brothers, Ray Arnold and Bobby Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Marie Frizzel and Doris Wall, and a daughter and son who passed away at birth, Theresa and Bruce.
