    Gwenyth Jean Simmons Causin, 94, of Washington, passed away peacefully at her residence on October 22, 2020.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Ruth Simmons; a son, Thomas Causin and a sister, Jane Hill.

    She is survived by her husband of 72 years Robert G. Causin; three children, Cynthia Neale, Deborah McClallen and Robert "Buz" Causin; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

    Gwenyth was raised in Olympia, WA. She attended the University of Puget Sound where she graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. She was a very devoted wife and supportive of her husband's work for the Saturn 5 Lunar Landing program, moving multiple times, from Olympia, WA, Huntsville, AL, Washington, DC and finally retiring to Little Washington, NC. Through the course of their residences, Gwenyth worked in family services in northern Virginia. She was a long-standing member of PEO and Alpha-Beta Upsilon sorority. She loved to participate in book clubs, garden clubs and bridge clubs, sailing and skiing. As an avid traveler, she loved to be with her West and East Coast families. She became scuba certified at 50 and at 80 years old she went zip-lining.

    Lovingly known as Mima to her family, she was the glue to all family gatherings and will be deeply missed.

    The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 1, 2020 from 1-4 pm at the Pamlico Plantation Clubhouse.

    In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Gwenyth's memory to the charity of one's choice.
