    Mr. Edwin Lee "Buddy" Nobles, age 83, a resident of East Barr Road, Chocowinity, died Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Clay Linton.

    Mr. Nobles was born in Craven County on February 16, 1937. He was the son of the late Wiley Nobles and Virginia Russell Nobles Heath. Mr. Nobles served in the Air Force. He was a retired farm equipment mechanic. In his spare time, Mr. Nobles loved fishing, gardening, and going to the car races with his brother.

    On July 17, 1959, Mr. Nobles was united in marriage to the former Linda Fay Buck, who preceded him in death, April 18, 2013.

    Mr. Nobles is survived his children; Ricky Nobles (Paula) of Chocowinity, Gerald Nobles (Sue) of Chocowinity, Wanda Gordon (Chris) of Pamlico County, Melvin Nobles (Kimberly) of Alaska, Kelvin Nobles (Paula) of Vanceboro; two sisters, Elsie Whitford of Ernul, Marilyn Quattlebaum (Rodney) of Wagner, S.C.; brother, Joseph Nobles (Mary) of Cove City; 11 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

    In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Nobles was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald Nobles and Ray Nobles.
