   Mrs. Daisy Thomas Younce, age 93, a resident of 116 Riverside Drive, Washington, NC died Monday July 16, 2012 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

   A funeral service will be held 4:30 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Washington, officiated by Dr. Jimmy Moore. Entombment will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Chris Cobb, Frank Younce, Mike Thomas, Jamie Craven, Robert Paciocco and Edward Goodrich will serve as pallbearers.

   Mrs. Younce was born in Bertie County on August 8, 1918, daughter of the late Jepptha Thomas and Abbey Daisy Hoggard Thomas. She married Earl Stanley Younce who preceded her in death on January 17, 1996. Mrs. Younce was a homemaker, a member of the First Baptist Church in Washington, Unity Sunday School Class, Young at Heart Senior Adult Group, Washington Garden Club and Meals on Wheels.

   Mrs. Younce is survived by her sons: Buddy Sumner and his wife, Frances of Williamston; Earl Younce, Jr., and his wife, Lori of Avon; stepson: Edward Younce of Washington; her grandchildren; Trey Younce, Amber Younce, Pamela Craven and her husband, Jamie; her step-grandchildren: Chris Cobb and Elizabeth Dixon; and her step-great-grandchildren: Christopher Craven and Alexandra Craven. She is preceded in death by her brother: Mike Thomas and her sisters: Helen Hoggard and Bruce Senn.

   The family will receive friends 3:30 – 4:15 prior to the service on Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Washington.

   Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 113 N. Harvey St., Washington, NC 27889.
