    Edward Wayne Russ Sr., 79, died January 29, 2021 with his wife and children by his side. A service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at St. Clair's Church of Christ located at 9814 NC -99, Bath NC. 27808. Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the church family life center and funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. followed by graveside service.

    Wayne was born in Beaufort County, NC on December 28, 1941 to Ora Mae and Edward Beryl Russ. He graduated from John A. Wilkinson High School in Belhaven, NC where he met his high school sweetheart, Joan Davis. They were married on April 9, 1961. Together they raised two children, Terri and Ed in Bath, NC. He was a member of St. Clair's Church of Christ where he served Christ as a deacon for several years and then as an elder. In addition, he was a Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School teacher, and board member of Campus Christian Fellowship of NC. Wayne found great joy in working with his hands and being a vessel for Christ while serving others.

    He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Lanny Beryl Russ and survived by his wife, Joan, daughter Terri Wilson (Ray) of Greenville, Ed Russ (Mary) of Raleigh, four granddaughters Sara Hayes (Curtis), Eliza Buchanan (Zach), Rachel Wilson, and Maggie Russ. Wayne is also survived by his brothers and sister Tommy Russ (Winnie), Marilyn Wallace, Ronnie Russ, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

    In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to St. Clair's Church of Christ.
