    Mr. Johnny "Marvin" Smith, age 81, a resident of 24 Pungo View Road, Belhaven, died Friday, January 29, 2021 at his home.

    Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, February 1, 2021 at the New Hope Church of Christ in Pantego, conducted by Billy Ray Askew. Burial will be private.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Ricky Adams, Hallas Boyd, Ricky Radcliff, Ronnie Flowers, and Willys Joyner, Jr.

    Mr. Smith was born in Belhaven on December 18, 1939. He was the son of the late John Alva Smith and Jessie Proctor Smith. Mr. Smith was a retired receiving clerk with Weyerhaeuser with over 40 years of service. He was a member an Elder at New Hope Church of Christ.

    Mr. Smith was an active Mason in Belhaven Masonic Lodge #509 where he served as secretary for many years. He was also a Certified Lecturer, Past Master, Past District Deputy Grand Master, and Past District Deputy Grand Lecturer in the lodge.

    On June 25, 1961, Mr. Smith married the former Mary Edith Waters, who survives.

    Surviving with his wife are his son, Scott of Greenville and many nieces and nephews.
