Mr. William “Bill” Keating | Eastern NC Now

   Mr. William “Bill” Keating, age 78, a resident of 107 Pinetree Drive, Washington died Thursday morning July 26, 2012 at his home.

   Mr. Keating was born in New York City on August 19, 1933, son the late William Keating and Mary Ann Moran Keating. On April 18, 1959, he married the former Joan Louise Schroeder who survives. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. In 1988, he retired from GE Aviation and moved to Washington from Yardville, NJ. Mr. Keating worked with Capital Airlines for 5 years, US Steel for 17 years and RCA for 7 years. He enjoyed bowling with the Funtime Seniors Bowling League in Greenville.

   In addition to his wife, Joan of the home, he is survived by two sons: Michael W. Keating of Laurel, MD and Robert E. Keating of Chalfont, PA; his grandchildren: Meagan Keating, Nicole Keating, Julia Keating and Shane Keating and his sister: Mary McGrail of Queens, NY.

   The family will receive friends 6:00-9:00 PM on Saturday July 28, 2012 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington. Father Arturo Cabra will hold a brief prayer service at 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center, 1209 Brown Street, Washington, NC 27889.
