Mrs. Beatrice D. Foster | Eastern NC Now

   Mrs. Beatrice D. Foster, age 71, a resident of Riverside Apartments and formerly of Pamlico Beach, died Thursday, July 26, 2012.

   A graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, July 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Ryder Hill Cemetery, Pamlico Beach, NC officiated by Medford Hopkins. Sammy Curlings, Jason Curlings, Sam Edwards, Carl Foster, Jr., Henry Foster, Jr. and Eugene “Boots” Mills will serve as pallbearers. Carl Foster, Sr. and Bobby Hodges will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 28, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hillside Funeral Service, 4500 Hwy. 264 E., Washington, NC and other times at the home of Joyce and Bobby Hodges, 5105 Slatestone Rd., Washington, NC.

   Beatrice was born in Beaufort County on November 23, 1940, daughter of the late Lonnie Theodore and Cassie Potter Guthrie. She married Ottis D. Foster who preceded her in death on May 30, 2012. She was a homemaker.

   Beatrice is survived by her daughters Teresa Taylor of Ayden, Joyce Hodges of Washington, Deborah Mills of Chocowinity, Sue Edwards of Washington and Clara Foster of Washington, her brother, Tillman Guthrie of Pamlico Beach, her sisters, Frances Foster of Everetts Crossroad and Sina Thurman of Washington, eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
