Mrs. Doris Eula Langley Lindsey | Eastern NC Now

   Mrs. Doris Eula Langley Lindsey, age 88, died Friday, August 17, 2012.

   Born in Nash County on December 6, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Willie Lindsey Langley and Emma Baker Langley. She married Hubert Lee Lindsey on May 28, 1948.

   She was retired from Barcalounger Furniture Company in Rocky Mount NC. Doris was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Doris loved her family and enjoyed reading. Doris was very creative with her sewing and enjoyed making beautiful clothes for her two daughters. Doris was a member of West Mount Baptist Church.

   Doris was preceded in death by her husband on August 23, 2007, her grandson, Lindsey Alex Correll on January 29, 2010 and her brother, Marvin A. Langley and sister, Eunice Langley Batchelor.

   She is survived by her two daughters, Brenda Gail Lindsey of Rocky Mount and Sherry Lindsey Correll and her husband Alan Davis Correll and grandson, Seth Davis Correll of Washington, NC; her brother, Thurman Langley and wife Mae of Rocky Mount, NC, sister, Carolyn Harrell and husband Bill of Tennessee and sister, Lois Dixon of Rocky Mount. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

   Pallbearers will be her grandson, Seth Davis Correll and her nephews, Ray Batchelor, Albert Batchelor, Earl Langley, Alan Langley and Tony Langley.

   Visitation will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 19 at Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home in Rocky Mount. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Wheeler Woodlief Funeral Home with the Reverend Tim Hogan officiating. Burial will follow in Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
