GOP flips mayor in 85% Hispanic Texas city

McAllen, Texas is a city of 140,000 people and is 85% Hispanic.  It is a border city in South Texas.  Democrats were stunned Saturday when McAllen's voters elected its first Republican mayor, and to rub it in the new mayor,  Javier Villalobos is also the county chairman of the Republican Party.

This is another clear sign that many Hispanic Americans are not thrilled with the leftward lurch of the Democrat Party.  It is also a hopeful sign for Republicans in 2022.
