Mr. Bailey Judson “B.J.” Wiggs, Jr | Eastern NC Now

   Mr. Bailey Judson “B.J.” Wiggs, Jr, 84, passed away peacefully at home on August 23, 2012. He was born on April 24, 1928 in Rolesville, NC, the son of the late Bailey Judson Wiggs, Sr. and Ila Pearl Wiggs. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Mosley Wiggs.

   B.J. (Billy) enjoyed a long career in the railroad industry and always had a love of trains. His career began in Raleigh and he served as Chief Transportation Officer of the Norfolk Southern Railway. He completed his career in Prineville, Oregon where he was Chief Operating Officer for the City of Prineville Railroad. In retirement, B.J. enjoyed golfing and boating with his buddies in Washington, NC.

   B.J. is survived by his wife of 8 years, Shirley Cox Mayo Wiggs, sons, Robert Lynn Wiggs and his wife Carol and James Sidney Wiggs and his wife Heather; grandchildren, Meredith Wiggs Horner and her husband Scott, Matthew Judson Wiggs and his wife CarolAnn, Andrew Bailey Wiggs and great-grandson, William Thomas Horner. He is also survived by his sister, Anne Wiggs Witt.

   The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 2p.m.-4p.m. at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington, N.C. A graveside service will be held 11:00a.m. Monday, August 27, 2012 at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, 3417 Rolesville Road, Wendell, NC.

   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 304 West Second Street, Washington, NC 27889.
