The Tea Party isn't dead | Eastern North Carolina Now

Senator Harry Reid said," The Tea Party movement is dead in the water under his leadership, since the Tea Party will disappear as the economy improves, and it is improving every day." Senator Reid seems not to be aware that he was one of the catalysts who launched the Tea Party movement. In any case, as Mark Twain said about himself, reports about the Tea Party's demise were greatly exaggerated. Make no mistake; the Tea Party movement is not dead. Rather, it is in the process of metamorphosis from mass protests in 2009 into an increasingly sophisticated and coordinated political power broker.

Ron Paul had an event called Boston Tea Party 07 where they threw tea bags and IRS forms in the Boston harbor. However, the real Tea Party movement started in early 2009. People were becoming increasingly alarmed that TARP was wasting $700B of tax dollars and the massive and unresponsive growth of our government. The movement started out with little groups here and there across the country organizing and protesting. The election of President Obama and the Democratic control of Congress and the Senate launched the Tea Party on steroids.

The grass roots organization ignited people's passion like nothing else in modern times. Small groups using the internet connected, planned, and organized. The few became thousands, and the thousands became millions. They rallied and protested at town hall meeting around the country to the point that timid politicians who were afraid to face their constituents and tell them the truth refused to go to town meetings. They hid in their offices and issued press releases attacking the Tea Party, who watched the befuddled politicians gather votes through bribery and intimidation to force through unconstitutional stimulus packages and then Obamacare. And we protested, wrote letters send faxes, and made phone calls, but we were ignored.

Patriots stood in protest representing the American people. We were more than lowly protestors; we were the type of Americans the Founding Fathers envisioned over 200 years ago. Young and old, wealthy and poor, patriots of all colors and backgrounds began to rally with a new energy. The word began to spread with the war cry, "We must take our country back." The media started to take notice that America was moved right down to her soul. A new voice began to speak, and a new hope was spawned. From this humble beginning a movement was born.

The Tea Party movement born from obscurity, without funding, without planning is now shaking the foundation of the oligarchy that rules our country, but without our blessing.

From our founding, the Tea Party represents the voices of the true owners of the United States, and it is not the politicians. It is WE THE PEOPLE. The Tea Party includes those who possess a strong belief in the foundational Judeo-Christian values embedded in our great founding documents. We believe that the responsibility of our beloved nation is entrenched within the hearts of true American Patriots from every race, religion, national origins, and walk of life who share a common belief in the values which made and keep our beloved country great. We stand by the Constitution, and we serve as a beacon to the masses that have lost their way. We must stand on the values that made us great. We need the politically blind to see and the deaf to hear!

By joining the Tea Party, you are taking a stand for our nation, and you will be upholding the principles set forth in the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The core beliefs of the Tea Party are:

    1. Illegal aliens are here illegally.
    2. Pro-domestic employment is indispensable.
    3. A strong military is essential.
    4. Special interests must be eliminated.
    5. Gun ownership is sacred.
    6. Government must be downsized.
    7. The national budget must be balanced. Note President Obama has not signed a budget since he has been in office. Harry Reid will not allow a budget to even come to the floor in the Senate.
    8. Deficit spending must end.
    9. Bailout and stimulus plans are illegal.
    10. Reducing personal income taxes is must.
    11. Reducing business income taxes is mandatory.
    12. Political offices must be available to average citizens.
    13. Intrusive government must be stopped.
    14. English as our core language is required.
    15. Traditional family values are encouraged.
    16. 73% of members disapprove of President Obama's handling of Muslim countries
    17. 88% approve of Arizona's immigration laws
    18. 82% do not believe that gay and lesbian couples have the right to marry.

Many of our dilemmas lay on our shoulders because we were not paying attention to what was happening in Washington. As economic issues burden small business and jobs are disappearing, we must not define ourselves by the present calamities, but by our resolve to pick up the pieces and move on. The power of a few can change a nation. Many think we are old fashioned, but we believe it is not foolish to pledge our lives, liberty, and scared honor to the greatest nation that ever was or will ever will be. We are happy to carry forward the mantle of the Tea Party, keeping alive the voice of freedom.

Since President Obama was elected, George Bush has been blamed for everything from the bad economy to the hoof and mouth disease. However, the left's vitriol against the Tea Party makes their rage against George Bush seem tame. Let me share some of them with you.

"I think they're totally unreasonable and doctrinaire and not founded in reality. I think that they have been smoking some of that tea, not just drinking It.", said Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean.

"This is not rhetoric or hyperbole--this is real. The rise of this Tea Party so-called movement-bowel movement in my estimation-and this blatant uncovering and ripping off the mask of racism," said former Acorn president Bertha Lewis.

"The Tea Party brought us to the brink of a default," David Axlerod.

Tea Party members are accused of being racist, while ignoring the fact that Herman Caine, who is an African-American business man, was a Tea Party favorite. Allen West said the notion of racism in the Tea Party is made up by the news media. The liberal education establishment frequently states that Tea Party members aren't bright enough to know what is good for them, and they say that cuts in government spending will force people to eat cat food. The Tea Party fights against everything the left believes makes a good country, like punishing people who are successful, government run healthcare and retirement. Yes, everything that the Democrats are promising voters the Tea Party is against, because they know that we can no longer afford it, and the programs are going broke.

Yes, the left hates the Tea Party, but you have to look at the structure of the Tea Party to understand why. The Tea Party is unlike a union; a business or government, there is no leader of the Tea Party nor is it a singular body. It consists of many groups throughout the nation. There is no official doctrine no rules set in stone. Their core beliefs revolve around the idea that the federal government has grown far too large, wield too much power, and are oppressing far too many constitutional liberties. Without the government in the way, the individual can decide how he'll live and how to use his natural talents to get ahead in the world.

When Sarah Palin took the world stage with the support of the Tea Party, she instantly became the face of the Tea Party. Now the left had a real person to hate, and hate they did. All of their pent-up rage was focused on her and her family, although she held no position within the Tea Party. The attacks on her went way beyond the bounds of common decency, and the words they used to describe her were right out of the gutter. If you want an example of courage personified that would be Sarah Palin. And yet, not one feminist Democrat or Republican came to her aid. She stood alone unaided and unbowed facing the wrath of the left.

The left sees the nation as divided into two factions, the people and the wealthy (big business). The wealthy take every opportunity to exploit the people for the sole purpose of increasing the wealth of the wealthy, which would deny the people their fair share that they rightly deserve. They see the only way to prevent the wealthy of laying waste to the country is to have a huge national government control the wealth and redistribute it to the people. In the eyes of the left, Republicans want smaller government because they are on the side of the wealthy, and Democrats are on the side of the people because they support big government.

The Tea Party members see the world as a clean slate. In other words, no matter my race, color, or religion, no matter if born rich or poor an individual can accomplish whatever he puts his mind to. Individual choice goes hand in hand with personal responsibility. This is in striking contrast to the view of the left, who are experts in the blame game. Like, the economic woes are Bush's fault, and the people could get ahead if it were not for the wealthy.

The Tea Party turned the world view of the left on its' head. Much like Admiral Yamamoto after the Pearl Harbor attack when he said, "I fear all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant, and fill him with a terrible resolve." There is no question that President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi have awakened millions of sleeping giants. Now is the time to reap the whirlwind.

The signs and placards are in storage ready to be used when needed, but for now we have offices and banks of phones that can be staffed to alert voters of the issues in upcoming elections. During the election of 2010, there were a total of 138 candidates who had significant Tea Party support. All of them were Republicans. There were 129 candidates for Congress and 9 for the Senate. We didn't win them all, but we were able to take control of Congress, and we should have taken control of the Senate, but one seat was lost due to voter fraud.

If you are listening to the traditional drive by media, you would miss what is going on with the Tea Party.

When Mitt Romney announced Paul Ryan would be his choice to be his VP the crowd was electrified, and it brought balking conservatives on board. Paul Ryan is considered the face of the Tea Party.today.

We have seen win after win by Tea Party candidates. It started with Richard Mourdock in Indiana. Then it was Deb Fischer in Nebraska, and Ted Cruz in Texas. All three won their primaries and are solid favorites to win the general election. In Wisconsin, Mark Neuman has closed the gap against businessman Eric Hovde and RINO Tommy Thompson. If he wins, he will face a hard race against Tammy Baldwin, who is a radical far left extremist.

The good news is we are winning this year. Those who said that the Tea Party was dead were wrong again. They said we were dead after the big rallies of 2009, but we are still here.

We have been through the dark days of the Obama Regime, but November is coming. We have seen Obama try to destroy this nation. We have seen Obama, Pelosi, and Reid try to spend America into bankruptcy, but November is coming.

As to November, we should remember the famous words of Winston Churchill, "Now is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."

November will be here in the blink of an eye, so the Tea Party needs all the support it can get to help put our country on the right track and put our physical and economic house in order. Join a Tea Party group, and let's get the job done. poll#7
