    Mr. Kester Lane Carrow, age 74, a resident of 283 Diamond C Road, Washington, died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at his home.

    Graveside services will be held 5:00 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Pamlico Memorial Gardens in Washington, conducted by Danny Robertson.

    The following will serve as pallbearers: Ethan Carrow, Thomas Carrow, Keith Clark, Alexander McSweeney, William Rushton, and Jacob Smith.

    Mr. Carrow was born in Beaufort County on July 28, 1947. He was the son of the late Paul E. Carrow and Gladys Boyd Waters Carrow. Mr. Carrow was Valedictorian of the Bath High School Class of 1965. He earned two Bachelor of Science degrees from East Carolina University. Mr. Carrow was a retired chemist with Burroughs-Wellcome (now Thermo Fisher). Mr. Carrow also served in the United States Air Force. He was a co-founder of Care-O-World Early Learning Centers. Mr. Carrow was a big ECU Pirate fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading, mowing grass and spending time with his grandchildren.

    On October 15, 1967, Mr. Carrow married the former Carolyn Jane Leggett, who survives.

    Surviving with his wife are his daughter, Ginger Lynn Carrow Thomas and husband, John of Washington; his sons, Aaron Lane Carrow of Pinetown, Jason Leigh Carrow of Greenville; three grandchildren, William Rushton and wife, Haley of Washington, Ethan Carrow of Washington, Jessiah "Levi" Carrow of Greenville; great grandchild, Kaden Thomas Rushton; sister, Tina Whitley and husband, Ronnie of Washington; brother, Paul "Rass" Carrow and wife, Sharon of Washington and his faithful canine companion, Lady.

    The family will receive friends from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, and other times at the home.

    Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the Methodist Home for Children, 1042 Washington Street, Raleigh, N.C. 27605.
