John Dunn Holt | Eastern NC Now

    Husband, father, and grandfather John Dunn (Jay) Holt entered fully into the presence of the Lord on October 5, 2021. He was 61 years old. Visitation is planned for Friday, October 8th at 1pm and the funeral service will be held at 2pm at Joseph B. Paul Funeral Home.

    Jay was born to John Carawan Holt and Beverly Dunn Holt on February 4th 1960. He is survived by his parents, his wife of 38 years Carol J Holt as well as his sisters Katherine Holt (Louis Elliot) and RayAnne Jarman(Bobby). He is also survived by his daughters Elizabeth Knox and husband Michael, Sarah Messick and husband John, Kristen Holt and Katherine Holt. His surviving grandchildren are Dylan Knox, Tanner Knox, Finley Knox, Ava Messick, Hayes Messick, Kaylee Deans and Hunter Oden.

    He was preceded in death by granddaughter Lilly Brie Knox.

    Jay enjoyed outdoor grilling. He was a big Yankees fan and NC State fan. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. He was a hard-working man who built his own company from the ground up. He has always provided for his family. Jay will be greatly missed by all.

    A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, October 8, 2021 at Joseph B. Paul, Jr. & Washington Funeral & Cremation. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
