Isabel Contreras Rubio Chavez | Eastern NC Now

    Mrs. Isabel Contreras Rubio Chavez, age 56, a resident of Pinetown, NC went with God on Tuesday November 2, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

    A private funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Mrs. Isabel's home and will be officiated by Pastor Artemio Hernandez. Burial will be later at Santo Domingo Cemetery in Santo Domingo, Jacala, Mexico.

    Mrs. Isabel was born in Mexico on November 5, 1964, daughter of Pompilio Contreras Villeda and Ubalda Rubio Palacios. She was a graduate of Narcizo Mendoza High School in Mexico. On November 17, 1984 she married Juan Chavez-Lopez. She was a member of Iglesia Del Dios Vivo Church in Tarboro.

    Mrs. Isabel was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She enjoyed to sing and serve the Lord, Jesus Christ. She often would sing at her church and make home videos for her family of her singing a new gospel song. Another passion of hers was to cook for her family and always enjoyed having big family gatherings. Mrs. Isabel truly loved life and its simplest pleasures, she will be deeply missed by all her family who loves her.

    Surviving along with her husband of the home, and parents of Mexico, are three daughters: Nohemi Hewitt (Jeremy) of Washington, Maythe Barton (Anthony) of London, KY and Merari Chavez Contreras of Raleigh; siblings: Cira Contreras Rubio of Ocracoke, Elias Contreras Rubio of Ocracoke, Jose Contreras Rubio of Mexico, Yolanda Contreras Rubio of Kitty Hawk, Oscar Contreras Rubio of Ocracoke, Liliana Contreras Rubio of Ocracoke, and Saul Contreras Rubio of Texas; and grandchildren: Alex Hewitt, Isabella Hewitt, Justin Barton, Jase Barton, Judah Barton and Juliana Barton.
