Elsie Lilley Roberson | Eastern NC Now

    Elsie Lilley Roberson, age 96, went to her heavenly home February 3, 2022. She resided in Washington, North Carolina.

    Funeral services will be held at 2:30PM Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Maple Grove Christian Church in the Farm Life community and will be officiated by Joey Brickhouse. Prior to the services, visitation with the family and friends will be held from 1:00PM to 2:15PM in the church Family Life Center. Family will also welcome visitations in their homes.

    Elsie Lilley Roberson was born in Martin County, June 10, 1925, to Elsie Griffin Lilley and Bennett Lilley. She lived most of her life there in the Farm Life community and graduated in 1943 from Farm Life Asa Manning School with her seven classmates. Elsie and Maurice E. Roberson were married for sixty years and had daughter, Linda, married to Charles Hough, daughter, Donna, married to Terry Kelsay, and son, Maurice Kent Roberson, married to Debbie Holloman. Grandchildren include Chuck and Kim Hough, (Christopher, Keri, Grey and Gabe Sugg), Jodie Roberson, (Megan Rawls), Eric and Amy Roberson, (Hailey and Ethan). Along the way many people, related or not, called them Uncle Maurice and Aunt Elsie.

    Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, husband Maurice E. Roberson, son Maurice Kent Roberson, grandson Robe D. Skiles, sister Ruth Barber, brother Joseph Lilley, and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins from the Griffin, Lilley, and Roberson sides of her family.

    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elsie's beloved Maple Grove Christian Church, 1500 Maple Grove Church Road, Jamesville, NC 27834, or to a favorite charity.
